‘Apinan, us the Lencas’, a Honduran production that seeks to honor the ethnic group that lives in the west of the country, has been recognized internationally.
The documentary, authored by Asael Talavera as filmmaker and Guillermo Mahchi as producer, shows “Lenca culture to the world, in an honorable, dignified way and in a world of incomparable nature.”
The production, which lasts 25 minutes, was recorded for 8 months in the imposing and mysterious landscapes of western Honduras, where this ethnic group lives.
Nominations
Apinan, which in their language means “we”, has been described as a “visual poem”, earning ten nominations for international awards:
