Amid the hype surrounding the introduction of the USB-C cable, Apple managed to add a touch of humor to the mix. The finishing touch?
They served cookies (yes, cookies) individually wrapped in clear plastic at their ‘carbon neutral’ event!
Naturally, this sparked humor across the internet as users continued the tradition of mocking Apple’s outlandish environmental choices, with @NikiasMolina leading the charge by sharing a photo of the plastic-wrapped ‘X’ cookie.
“Apple gave us cookies at the event. They were delicious.” he wrote.
Unaware of the joke that would follow, he posted innocently, setting the stage for Internet users to once again mock Apple’s environmental concerns and its reasons for choosing certain products.
Before long, the comments section was flooded with sarcastic comments and trolls. One user even joked:

“Why doesn’t Apple care about nature by giving away plastic-wrapped cookies? Are they just on the iPhone and charger?” wrote another.
So we have to ask ourselves: Did Apple simply serve us a bit of hilarity in their quest for a greener image, or are they simply coming up with new ways to keep us entertained?
