She’s in the doghouse now.
An Arizona couple alleges the woman they hired to care for their dogs got drunk, vandalized their home and kept the dogs in their cages for days while they were on vacation last month.
Brooke Gambino and Mohammad Kabiri hired a pet sitter on the Rover app, who would keep an eye on their dogs (Goose and Bernardo) and their home while they went on a 10-day trip between December 14 and Christmas Day, with the only responsibility of feeding the dogs. and making sure they didn’t escape.
The couple did a trial run with the nanny weeks before and, they say, it went smoothly.
“It had great reviews and was apparently on Rover for several years,” Gambino told 3TV/CBS 5.
The first three days went by without a hitch, but the couple grew distrustful of the babysitter when they received messages that didn’t make sense, including photos of a random dog.
Concerned about the well-being of their dogs, the couple asked a friend to stop by their house to make sure everything was okay.
“She walks by and says your dogs are alive, but your house is very messy and she [the sitter] It just seems out of place,” Gambino said.

When they returned from their vacation, Gambino and Kabiri say their house was left a mess, with dirty duvet covers, stains on the wooden tables, a container of vape juice, and random car keys.
They told the outlet that they also found alcohol bottle caps lying around, which confirmed their suspicions that the babysitter was drunk.
After their horrifying discoveries, the couple reviewed their home security cameras, which helped shed light on the pet sitter’s stay at their home.

“The 17th is when everything falls apart,” Gambino added.
Ring footage captured the moment his two dogs broke free and ran near a parking lot as a voice could be heard shouting “Come here.”
The dogs were reportedly loose for 30 minutes before returning to the house, as the sitter never showed up, according to KPNX.
Other videos captured a man leaving the house yelling “Where are the dogs? What have you done?”
The couple were alerted that something was wrong when the babysitter sent them strange messages, including a photo of a random dog. 3TV/CBS5)
The cameras also captured the times the babysitter visited the house, some of them only in the last minutes.
“No one is home with the dogs for more than 23 hours. They are packed for three days straight,” Gambino told the outlet.
The babysitter was also captured apparently having trouble walking, tripping over a bush before having difficulty getting back up.
“Well, if you weren’t sober enough to take care of our dogs, then that’s a problem,” Gambino said.

The sitter allegedly attributed her actions to needing the hospital due to a kidney infection, but also added that the dogs were fine.
Gambino said it was hard to see his pets treated badly, as they have been a great addition to the household in recent years.
“The dogs have been a great emotional support in these last few years that have been difficult, and they really are a very special part of our family.”
The couple said they are grateful their dogs are safe, but they will not use the Rover app again. 3TV/CBS5)
Rover said they suspended the nanny “pending the results of our investigation,” reads a statement shared with AZFamily.
The company also shared that it will provide a full refund to the couple in addition to providing any other support to them or their dogs.
“I think we’re a little surprised more than anything, but relieved that our dogs are okay,” the outraged couple said as they planned to stop using the service.
