Arun Kohli was born in Delhi, India around 50 years ago to an Indian couple. He was born and brought up in a very normal, middle-class Indian, sweet small family. The exact details of his parents remain unknown and hidden to this day. Even after researching a lot, our team wasn’t able to find out much about the identity and profession of his parents. However, what we did find out was that his father was also a very great businessman. Kohli grew up and studied in Delhi and stayed by his family’s side. Arun was always a very shy personality and usually kept to himself.

He stated that he had seen his father working day and night and he was very grateful for the life his father provided him. After studying for four years and getting his engineering degree, he then joined the Faculty of Management Studies – at the University of Delhi. Soon, he found a way to finance his own studies and flew to Philadelphia, United States, and enrolled himself in an MBA Program at The Wharton School. Kohli studies hard, made connections, worked on internships, and then after graduation, finally started his career.

After completing his studies in the United States, he flew back to his home country Delhi. Upon returning back, Arun Kohli first started his career by serving as an Executive Engineer at Maruti Suzuki India Limited in New Delhi, Delhi, India. He worked there from January 1991 to January 1993. Then after gaining an appropriate experience of two years, he bagged a job as the Manager at The Credit Rating Information Services of India Ltd. He worked there from January 1995 to January 2000. Furthermore, by then, he had gained a lot of experience in the corporate world.
Later, he decided to switch up his career and joined McKinsey & Company as the Associate Principal in September 2002. Kohli gave five years to the company and resigned in April 2007 to grab onto better opportunities, that as working with Morgan Stanley. Arun again flew to New York, United States, and started his job as an Executive Director (Firm Strategy and Execution) at Morgan Stanley. After working for two years from April 2007 to December 2009, Kohli got a much-deserved promotion. He was made the Managing Director (Firm Strategy and Execution) at Morgan Stanley in January 2010. It’s been more than twelve years that Arun was in that position, until, very recently, Morgan Stanley announced a very surprising decision.
Kohli Becomes Country Head of India
Arun Kohli has had a glorious 15 years journey with Morgan Stanley. After becoming one of the core members of the company, Kohli is now trending on every news channel.
