Arun Vijay was born on November 19, 1977 in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, in a Hindu family. He is the son of veteran actor Vijay Kumar. His mother’s name is Muthukannu. Arun’s parents were separated during his childhood. Later, Vijay Kumar married Manjula Vijaykumar, who is also an actress. Kavitha and Anitha are two elder sisters who also debuted in the film industry in 1995. He also has three stepsisters.
He did his schooling at Don Bosco Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Egmore. After that, she completed her graduation from Loyola University, Chennai.

Career
Arun started receiving film offers when he was in high school, but his father denied them because he wanted Arun to complete his studies first. He gained a great interest in acting by watching his father’s films. I was very inspired by him.
After her studies, she signed on for a musical Love Story to be her acting debut. But that film was taking a while to start, so he signed another film called Murai Mappillai in 1995. At the age of 18, he became one of the youngest Tamil actors to debut as a male lead actor. Later he got the opportunity to act in films like Priyam, Ganga Gowri, Mutham, Vedha, Malai Malai, Pandavar Bhoomi, etc. In 2022, he appeared in the Tamil film Oh My Dog, playing the role of a man who likes animals.
