Arunabh Kumar was born on November 16, 1982 in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. His parents wanted Arunabh to receive a better education and moved to another city to achieve this. They moved to 7-8 cities and then settled in Jaipur, Rajasthan. In Jaipur, he studied at the Vidyashram school of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. After that, he went to Takada to study for IIT JEE. He passed this exam and got admission in Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur to graduate in B. Tech (Electrical Engineering).

Career
After completing his IIT, Arunabh Kumar started his career in 2006 as a research assistant in the United States Air Force. He didn’t like the job and quit. After leaving his job as an engineer, Arnab joined Chilly’s Entertainment in 2017 as their assistant director Red He. There, his job responsibilities included helping with all on- and off-road tasks, from walking to creating prints.
Arunabh was also the assistant director of Farah Khan’s film ‘Om Shanti Om’, starring Shah Rukh Khan. After this project, she had difficulty finding a permanent job to pay her bills. She did everything she could to launch her film career, but after three years of struggling she went bankrupt. She then began recording small audiovisual and corporate videos for construction companies and advertising agencies. This provided her with a steady income, but she tried filmmaking again. Arunabh considered starting his own television show, The Engineer’s Diary, and submitted a proposal to MTV. The station rejected the offer, prompting him to consider connecting through YouTube. He once talked about that rejection and how he started creating his own television show.
In 2019, Arunabh co-founded and is CEO of Indusverse with Alok Sharma and Saumin Patel. This company is dedicated to producing comics that address current issues in society.

Arunabh met Shruti Ranjan at IIT Bombay in 2013, where he completed his master’s degree in environmental sciences. The duo dated for a long time. They got engaged in April 2020, but the wedding was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The couple married in a private ceremony on May 24, 2022.
