The charge
According to NASA’s Asteroid Watch Dashboard, a nearly 60-foot-long asteroid, dubbed JA5, will move 3.17 million miles away from Earth. The asteroid was first tracked in 2021. The US space organization defines “potentially hazardous objects” (PHO) as asteroids and comets that are expected to be larger than 500 feet and are estimated to come within 4.7 million miles of the earth.
In addition to the massive JA5 heading toward Earth, four other asteroids have also headed toward Earth. Scientists have estimated that these four will be between 26 and 170 feet in diameter. The remaining four asteroids have been described by NASA scientists as “planes” or “buses” floating in space, a clear commentary on their size.
On Friday, NASA says, an 83-foot airplane-sized QC5 will pass by Earth at a distance of about 2.53 million miles. On the same day, another GE 2020, albeit smaller at 26 feet, will also greet Earth from a distance of 3.56 million miles. Who says long distance connections don’t work?

Then, on Sunday, QE8, the largest and closest asteroid among them, is expected to approach Earth at a distance of just under a million miles. This massive 170-foot asteroid will come within 946,000 miles of Earth.
On the same day, QF6, a 68-foot asteroid, is expected to be 1.65 million miles from our planet. It is worth noting that both asteroids were discovered this year.
