Sharing his take on the episode, Prakash wrote: “I absolutely loved the assertion, defiance, and resistance of the Dalit woman character — Pallavi. For those Vanchits and Bahujans who have watched the episode, assert your identity, and only then do you gain political prominence. As Pallavi puts it, ‘Everything is about the politics.’ Jai Bhim!”

The director of that Made in Heaven Season 2 episode, Neeraj, retweeted Prakash’s tweet and wrote: “This is everything! Thank you so much, sir! (two blue heart emojis).”

Neeraj’s commitment to portraying Dalit characters is evident through his earlier works, such as the acclaimed 2015 film “Masaan,” featuring Vicky Kaushal, Shweta Tripathi, and Richa Chadha.

This theme was explored in his short film for Netflix India’s 2021 anthology “Ajeeb Daastaans,” starring Konkona Sensharma and Aditi Rao Hydari.

The internet has been abuzz with admiration for the poignant Buddhist wedding depicted in Neeraj’s episode.

The fight for the Buddhist wedding scene in MIH2 was so liberating and felt so personal. It’s high time to show Dalit representation in mainstream media.#MadeInHeavenS2 pic.twitter.com/rehigpSho6
