Bryan Kohberger’s lawyers demand that cameras be banned in an Idaho court

Lawyers for accused University of Idaho killer Bryan Kohberger asked a judge to ban cameras in the courtroom for “the rest of the proceedings,” complaining that journalists had failed to comply with a court order to avoid focusing. on him in court.

In a letter Friday to Judge John Judge, Kohberger’s attorney, Anne Taylor, noted that “courtroom observers with cameras have not complied” with an earlier directive from the judge, according to Fox News Digital.

Taylor argued that “press observers have so far failed to comply with the court’s instructions, as the continued release of images such as the ones below continues to this day,” citing three images provided by Reuters and Associated Press.

The cameras’ “continued exclusive focus” on Kohberger also provides “food” for those on social media “who are not bound by notions of journalistic integrity and who potentially have an even greater reach than traditional news outlets,” said his legal team, adding that media coverage could hurt a potential juror.
