In the first Express Entry draw in more than a month, Canada sent out 3,200 invitations to apply. There was a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 531 for the September 19 all-program drawing.
Since an all-program draw on August 15 resulted in 4,300 invites and a minimum CRS of 496, this was Canada’s first draw.
A new lottery focused on transportation jobs is planned this week.
What is express entry?
The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class are three of Canada’s most popular economic immigration streams.
Express Entry is an application management system for these three programs.
Although the eligibility requirements for each Express Entry program vary, they all use the Comprehensive Ranking System to analyze and rank applicants.
It does this by assigning ratings to many aspects of human capital, including language proficiency, age, work experience, occupation, and education.
The chances of receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence status in Canada are higher for those with the highest CRS scores.
Express Entry candidates nominated by a province are more likely to receive an ITA.
This is because Express Entry candidates who also participate in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) automatically receive an additional 600 CRS points.
This is fortunate because, depending on the program or category, the CRS score for most Express Entry drawings ranges between 350 and 550.
This year the following draws were held in Canada
- Drawings of the entire program for 15.
- 4 PNP draws
- French speakers are targeted through three draws
- Two competitions aimed at jobs in the health sector
- One is aimed at STEM-related professions.
- a specific giveaway for skilled trades
- One is intended for federal skilled worker applicants.
After inviting 45,115 candidates for the entire 2022, IRCC awarded 80,948 ITAs in 2023.
All Canadian Experience Class and Provincial Nominee Program applicants received an unprecedented 114,431 ITAs from IRCC in 2021.
It surpassed the previous record, which was 107,350 in 2020.
By 2023, Canada has set a record immigration target of 465,000.
The tiebreaker rule applied to the most recent drawing on September 12, 2023 at 8:16 am EST.
Only people who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations if more than one candidate obtained the required CRS score.
This was the 263rd and final round of Express Entry invitations for 2023.
Applications must be submitted within 60 days and will be processed within the required six months.
