Talk show host Charlamagne tha God urged President Biden to deliver the “best Christmas gift” this holiday season and drop out of the 2024 presidential race.
The comedian, who has criticized the 81-year-old president in the past, made the remarks on Wednesday. while completing as guest host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.”
Charlamagne cited Biden’s old age and poor polling as reasons why he is not the best choice to beat former President Donald Trump, the front-runner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.
Biden reportedly admitted at a closed-door fundraiser this week that if Trump weren’t in the race, he isn’t sure he would run.
But Biden also said this week, in response to a reporter’s question, that he believes “probably 50” other Democrats could overtake Trump while also promising to defeat him himself.

“This is Biden’s ego speaking. If you think there are other people who can beat him, step aside,” Charlamagne said in reference to the clip. “I know you think you have this in the bag. I know he thinks he has this in the bag, but the polls say otherwise.
“I want Biden to step in to beat Trump the same way I want him to step in to defend me in a bar fight,” he continued. “I appreciate your concern, but I don’t like our chances.”
He also compared Biden to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who the host said should have left office so she could have been replaced by another liberal justice during the Obama administration.
RBG was replaced by conservative Amy Coney Barrett, who was appointed by Trump and confirmed by the US Senate in 2020 following Ginsburg’s death at age 87.
