Demarkus Davis, 20, was being transported to the Shelby County Jail Sunday night as snow covered the streets of Memphis when he somehow managed to escape from a patrol car while handcuffed, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Memphis.

He was picked up around 11:35 pm about a half mile from where he escaped.

Davis was booked into the county jail early Monday morning on the two counts of child rape, as well as an additional charge of escape that was added following his brief escape.
