Chinese Zoo’s Attempt To Pass Off Golden Retriever As Lion Draws Flak

You may have noticed that a Chinese Sun Bear has recently divided the internet after going viral for its eerie resemblance to a “man in a suit.” The strange claims surfaced after a video of the bear in its enclosure appeared to interact with the public was released on Twitter.

One photo, in particular, depicts the bear’s skin folds at the bottom of its back, just above its bottom.

It’s not as far-fetched as it sounds, as another zoo was recently accused of attempting to pass off a Golden Retriever as a lion.

The dog was spotted in an area for African lions at Yuanjiashan Zoo in Xichang, Sichuan’s southern region in the viral clip.

According to the South China Morning Post, the video of the puppy in the zoo was published on social media by a guy identified only by his surname Tang, who had accompanied his youngster to the zoo on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

“At first, we feared we had arrived at the wrong location. “But after walking around the cage, we realised it was the right place for the lion,” Tang stated in the video.

“Does that look like an African lion? Is it because it hasn’t matured yet? It seemed to be familiar to me.”

Tang was then informed by a zoo worker in the video that this was a temporary situation and that the lions had been relocated while enclosures were being repaired.

“We are adjusting the animals’ accommodations,” he added, adding that the lion’s sign had not yet been removed from the cage.

The zoo was accused of selling tickets under a false premise

Tang, on the other hand, was not convinced by this explanation, and he accused the zoo of trying to sell tickets under the false premise that visitors may see lions.

“The money for the ticket is a small deal,” he remarked. What is more important to me is that I am unsure how to explain the current circumstance to my child.”
See? It’s no surprise that we have trust concerns with zoo animals these days.

You might think this is an extraordinarily odd and bizarre occurrence, but it’s actually more often than you’d think. In fact, another Chinese zoo was suspected of trying to pass a dog off as a wolf a few years ago.

Yes, it’s more realistic, but it’s still very ridiculous.

A visitor to Xiangwushan Zoo in Xianning, Hubei province, published a clip on social media that showed a Rottweiler-like dog sleeping on its side in a cage.
