Compatibility Alert: Check if your iPhone made the cut for iOS 17, some models are incompatible

Every year, Apple updates its iPhone software with lots of new and fun features. At its WWDC event on June 5, Apple showed off its newest software, iOS 17.

It will be available to download this fall, but not all iPhone users will be able to do so. As with all major Apple software updates, some iPhones, like 2017’s iPhone X, are left behind.

If you don’t know which iPhone you have, you can check in the settings. Open the Settings app and go to General > About from there. You can see which iPhone you have next to the Model Name.

We will tell you how to know if iOS 17 will work with your iPhone. The iOS 17 public beta will be ready in July if you want to try it out. Need more information about iOS 17? With Messages, Apple will turn your photos into stickers.
