Confused about Karan Johar’s ‘Delhi Mansion’ for the Raichand family on K3G? Twitter users still can’t get over it

In 2001, when Yash Raj’s film ‘Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham’ hit theaters in India, Desi viewers went wild. The film was the epitome of Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s partnership on screen.

K3G’s Raichand Family Mansion Confuses Twitter Users

Director Karan Johar had already established himself as the king of rom-coms in the country with his blockbuster ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ in 1995. However, K3G established Johar’s films and their opulence as canon in the industry.

More than two decades later, people on Twitter are wondering how Karan Johar convinced everyone that the Raichand family, headed by Amitabh Bachchan’s character in the film, lived in a British mansion. This obviously foreign looking mansion was not only supposed to be part of India but also just a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Chandni Chowk in Delhi.

Well, I’m sure not many take Johar’s movie as fact, but people still can’t get over this movie magic trick. Twitter user Shruti Sonal shared her puzzled thoughts on the platform, writing, “Still can’t believe Karan Johar led us to believe this was a house in Delhi AND a short drive from Chandni Chowk.”

Along with her caption, Sonal also posted an image of the mansion that was used in the film. For those who don’t know, the Raichand mansion is not part of the Delhi real estate and, in fact, is not even in India.

The Mansion Aka Waddesdon Manor is located in Buckinghamshire, England

The mansion is actually a mansion that was built in the 1880s. It is called Waddesdon Manor and is located on the western edge of the village of Waddesdon in Buckinghamshire, England. The mansion was built as a country retreat in the style of a Loire castle for the French-born banker, Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild.

It wasn’t just Sonal who was shocked when she realized what the movie had done. It had more than 1.9 million users gasping with it. One user simply accepted his defeat and said: “Hilarious, the joke has always been on us.”

While one thought it was SRK’s charm that fooled the audience, “Hahaha better! I think SRK distracted us. He comes home in a helicopter and oh, the famous race.”

Hahaha better! I think we got distracted by SRK. He arrives home by helicopter and oh the famous bullfight 😍

Another joked: “Johar is projecting the future.”

One more mentioned: “You better believe it, that’s what movies do: do the unthinkable.”

One noted, “We had so much fun watching the movie that we didn’t question its logistics or the greatness of the movie. Feel good, movies make you forget that.”
