In a recent incident at an Australian airport, authorities detained a woman as she was observed running onto the runway, apparently attempting to stop a flight she had apparently missed.
The video showing the woman pacing around the nose of the large plane quickly gained traction online. Onlookers were amazed to witness her attempt to attract the pilot’s attention, moments before the engine shut down.

Passengers at the airport in Canberra, Australia, documented the woman’s failed attempt in a video where the incident unfolded.

The woman was roaming free on the tarmac at Canberra Airport on Wednesday and was later detained by authorities.

According to witness Simon Hales, the incident was simply “bizarre”. Hales explained the situation in a Facebook post: “A lady who had clearly missed her flight decided she could still take it. She pushed the staff at the door, ran onto the tarmac and ran towards the plane.”
He added: “Literally standing underneath, next to the front wheel. Luckily, the pilot was warned or saw her and turned off the engine.” Another witness, Dennis Bilic, who caught the incident on camera, recounted: “People were a little caught off guard; “They didn’t seem to know what to do.”

Australian federal police arrested the woman at 7:30 p.m. after her impromptu walk along the track. She was subsequently charged with two counts of property damage, one count of entering a security area without permission and one count of possession of a small amount of cannabis. The people who witnessed the strange behavior were left completely speechless.
Unfortunately, due to the woman’s disruptive actions, there was a 10-minute delay on all flights. However, operations were later restored to normal hours.
