The stamp, supposedly issued on April 18, 1967, to celebrate Ram Navami features the year 2024 in the Hindu Vikram Samvat calendar, which is used in Nepal and certain parts of India. The current year coincides with the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony, which explains the great interest aroused by this claim.

But here is the truth: the Vikram Samvat calendar is 57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar. The year 1967 according to the Gregorian calendar corresponds to 2024 in Vikram Samvat, so “2024” appears on the 1967 stamp.

The year of issue of the Nepal postage stamp coincides with the year of the temple’s inauguration, a remarkable fact in itself. For some devotees, realizing that 57 years ago, the seal somehow predicted Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya in 2024 is one more thing to be happy about.

How are the preparations going for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony?

An important arrival from Ahmedabad is a 56-inch-tall drum that produces a majestic lion-like sound when played. Ayodhya witnessed a drum procession that will soon be installed at the temple.

In the upcoming Pran Pratishtha ceremony, an eight-metal conch shell will play an important role at the feet of Lord Ram. Satya Prakash Prajapati of Aligarh kindly donated this conch shell to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which is overseeing the construction of the temple.

Trust Chairman Mahant Nritya Gopal Das expressed gratitude for the remarkable act and emphasized the importance of Lord Ram’s presence at his birthplace.
