Elderly Palestinian criticizes Hamas in interview with Al Jazeera for receiving aid from civilians in Gaza

An elderly Palestinian bravely chastised Hamas for hogging international aid meant for desperate civilians during an interview with Al Jazeera inside the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to a DC-based media research institute.

The unidentified woman condemned the terrorist group that controls Gaza, apparently unconcerned about possible consequences, as she spoke openly to the Qatar-backed station’s reporter with others around her, according to footage and translation shared by Middle East Media Research. Institute.

The clip provided by MEMRI begins with the interviewer asking the woman about the lack of food or water in the area. She then insists that the situation is difficult and no help is coming. That led the woman to criticize Hamas.

“All the aid goes to the underground (tunnels), it doesn’t reach the people,” he said.

The video then cuts out again as the woman reiterates how the aid is intended for civilians.

“I am not afraid (of Hamas). I’m also talking to them. All aid comes to the Gaza Strip,” she said before the journalist interrupted her, according to the clip translated by MEMRI.

“A lot of help is coming. It is being distributed. “This is what they say,” the journalist said, but the woman simply started wagging her finger.

“Hamas takes everything to their homes,” he said, adding that they can “shoot me or do whatever they want to me.”

The interviewer then removes the microphone and says the situation is unclear, according to MEMRI.
