What happened to D’Monterrio Gibson?
A recent example has arrived that once again shocks the world and offers a topic for discussion about it. The latest incident of racial discrimination has occurred in a well-known company, which is another reason for this news to be on top. According to numerous reports, FedEx fired a black driver and the reason for firing him was because he reported that he was shot while on the job and that the perpetrator was a white male. Now, this layoff has once again raised questions about employee safety in the workplace and issues of racial discrimination among employees.
This incident highlights the issues of racism and the treatment of employees within the company. Now people are furious and wanting to know what the whole thing is about and why this company took such harsh action against a victim. Is he really a victim? If so, why is the company treating you like a criminal? FedEX reportedly fired a black employee who turned down an alternative job position after an egregious incident befell him. He informed his company about this incident. According to the victim, two white men chased him and shot him as he was delivering packages.
The report claims the dismissal came after a mistrial was announced in the attempted murder case against the son and father accused of this attack. Instead of listening to him, the company cracked down on him through no fault of his own. The victim is identified as 25-year-old D’Monterrio Gibson. He faced a horrific experience when two white men chased him for about 7 minutes on his delivery route in Brookhaven, Mississippi. The report states that this incident occurred on January 24, 2022.
The perpetrators fired numerous shots at his delivery van, ordering Gibson to take paid leave and seek treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Carlos Moore, Gibson’s attorney, revealed that on July 26, 2023, his client received an email informing her that his job had been terminated. Gibson’s attorney criticized FedEx’s decision, highlighting a lack of compassion and empathy for Gibson’s situation.
