The cat had a cleft palate and four malformed legs, according to foster mother Ash Houghton, making it extremely improbable that he would have endured long in the wild. Read on to learn more.

All life is fragile and that goes double for kittens. I am very sorry to hear about Tater Tot (the internet famous kitten).

The people that even TRY to help fragile little cats are so special, bc it often turns out sad — but it’s better than not trying

#TaterTot the cat has died and I’m so sad. I had a traumatic event with an animal this week, and he was a bright spot for me. My stupid brain keeps saying that I didn’t know the kitty, but my heart says it’s ok to cry. 😢

The family was upset since they loved remembering how loving he was. They promised to donate to animal welfare organisations in his honour. Ash Houghton, his foster mother, stated, “Hey Spudbuds, I’m honestly not sure how to start this post, but here it goes.” “Today, our little spud unexpectedly died in my hands.” The kitten gained notoriety for his intimidating look, unruly fur, and oddly coloured casts; many mockingly referred to him as “bonkers,” while his rescuers called him “badonkadonk” out of fondness. The rescuers said that when they found him, all four of his legs were deformed. His back legs were curled strangely, and his front legs were trapped at a 90-degree angle.

“What began as me posting some images of the silly new foster dog I had led to the creation of a community centred on generosity, comedy, and compassion. Astounded by the impact Tater Tot’s story had, Houghton wrote in her post, “I can’t even begin to tell you how fantastic it has been to witness how he has impacted the globe. The Legendarium, 349 E. 900 South in Salt Lake City is hosting a Kitty CrusAIDe adoption event this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but handlers claimed Tater Tot wouldn’t be there. Instead, they said they will have a number of other rescued kittens looking for new homes.
