A Florida man arrested by authorities is accused of trying to kidnap a child from a Lehigh Acres Walmart store on Friday.

Pablo Pintueles Hernandez was charged with false imprisonment of a child 13 years of age or younger, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say Pintueles Hernandez grabbed a 4-year-old boy and took him away from his family before a relative quickly intervened.

“Officers immediately reviewed surveillance footage and confirmed that an unknown man approached the boy shopping with his family, grabbed his wrist, and forced him in his direction before a family member intervened and removed the boy. child,” the Lee County Sheriff said. In a statement, Sheriff Carmine Marceno called the incident “incredibly disturbing.”
