Florida Mom, 18, Didn’t Have STDs; her daughter’s father killed her at Home Depot

A woman who was shot to death by her daughter’s father inside a Florida Home Depot did not have the sexually transmitted disease that killed her.

Brooklyn Sims, 18, tested negative for gonorrhea in an STD test taken just days before the murder, prosecutors revealed in court Wednesday, after the jury found her ex Keith Agee guilty of premeditated murder in first grade.

“I know in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter, but we just wanted to give Ms. Sims some dignity,” Assistant State’s Attorney Bridgette Jensen said after giving the judge a copy of the report.

Agee, 20, had admitted earlier in the week to killing the mother of his 2-year-old son while she was working inside the Pensacola Home Depot on Aug. 11.

While on the stand, Agee confessed that he was furious after contracting an STD after he and Sims were intimate, which he attributed to his own infidelity.

“I said, ‘Hey, you gave me something.’ She said, ‘Not this again,’ and she turned around and walked away from me. “I have never been so angry in my life,” Agee testified.

“I pulled my firearm from my waistband and proceeded to shoot Brooklyn.”

Two others suffered minor injuries.

Agee claimed the shocking killing was a spur-of-the-moment decision, but text messages between him and his mother, Sheila Agee, 50, show he had carefully planned the attack.

After Agee told his mother that he wanted to “just shoot” Sims, Sheila Agee allegedly egged him on, telling him that if he didn’t “come kill her” she would be a “bitch.”

He then went on to give Sims’ location before advising him to “delete” the incriminating text messages “because I don’t want anyone to know I was texting you, stupid,” the exchange shows.

Keith Agee then ended the disturbing conversation by saying that “the thought of her knowing she screwed up and the regret on her face will be enough to satisfy me,” according to text messages released by police.

Sheila Agee also faces a charge of first-degree premeditated murder in this case. She is due in court in February.

Brooklyn’s mother, Tiyanna Thomas, shared an emotional message with the judge following Agee’s verdict.

“I don’t hate Mr. Agee,” Thomas said.

“But I still can’t forgive him. I’m raising her daughter. That day, Casey lost her mother, her father, and her grandmother.”

Agee was sentenced to life in prison on the charge of premeditated murder. He was also charged with aggravated assault, for which a jury found him not guilty.
