Talk about a sick ride.
A Florida hospital patient still wearing her medical gown was arrested Wednesday after she stole an ambulance, police said.
Marquisa Allen, 25, of Miami allegedly led Port St. Lucie officers on a bizarre chase when she spontaneously decided to steal the unmanned truck.
Authorities said she had been sitting on a bench outside HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, dressed in her blue hospital gown, when she noticed EMS personnel leaving the ambulance running while they dropped off a patient inside.

Allen left the hospital parking lot, but he didn’t take into account one detail: The ambulance was equipped with a GPS tracker that immediately provided officers with his exact location, the PSLPD said in a statement.
They quickly located her in the middle of heavy traffic on the Florida Turnpike.
Allen allegedly jumped out of the vehicle and ran, despite not wearing shoes, but was soon overtaken by Florida Highway Patrol officers.
Photos of the arrest show Allen sitting on the side of the road wearing the hospital-issued gown and blue socks.

According to a PSLPD spokesperson, Allen was not being held at the hospital and was “free to go” when she stole the ambulance.
Officials could not reveal why he was in the hospital in the first place, but noted that there is no behavioral unit at the medical center.
The officers charged her with giving false information to police, driving on a suspended license, and resisting without violence.
The PSLPD anticipates adding additional charges to the list.
