Comedian Kevin Brennan has sparked outrage by celebrating the sudden death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry, even writing: “I love it when addicts die.”
The former “Saturday Night Live” writer wrote a series of messages shortly after news of the beloved actor’s death broke on Saturday.
“Drowned in a jacuzzi. HAHAHA” Brennan originally wrote in X.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that first responders rushed to the address after a call reporting cardiac arrest. It is currently unclear who called 911.
Sources said no illicit drugs were found at the scene and no foul play is suspected.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed to The Post on Sunday that an autopsy on the late star has been completed. However, the doctor has ordered more tests, including toxicology, which could take a few months.
The cause of death is “deferred.”

Perry, who was unmarried and had no children, had a long history of drug and alcohol abuse.
He spoke about his decades-long battle with addiction in a memoir titled “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,” which was published last year.
Perry went to rehab 15 times and underwent 14 surgeries to try to mitigate the damage caused to the stomach lining by alcohol and opioid use.

The actor claimed that he almost died in 2018 due to a gastrointestinal perforation. He spent two weeks in a coma and five months in the hospital. He also had to wear a colostomy bag for nine months.
“Doctors told my family I had a 2 percent chance of living,” Perry said during a promotional interview for his book last year. “They put me on a thing called an ECMO machine, which does all the breathing for the heart and lungs. And that’s called Hail Mary. Nobody survives that.”

Last year, Perry claimed he had spent nearly $9 million to stay sober over the years, and ultimately succeeded. The star had not used drugs or alcohol since May 2021.
In a promotional interview for his book last year, Perry said he would “like to be remembered as someone who lived well, loved well and was a seeker. And the most important thing is that he wants to help people.”
