From the heart of India: Various offers enrich Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

Devotees of Lord Ram have presented numerous gifts, made specifically for the magnificent temple in Uttar Pradesh, extending their offerings to the foundation of the Ram temple.

In anticipation of its imminent opening this month, the trust has received a host of unique and priceless gifts from both within and outside the nation.

Let’s explore some of the notable gifts:

1. Necklace With 5000 American Diamonds and 2 Kg of Silver

A Surat-based diamond merchant showed extraordinary craftsmanship by creating a necklace with the Ram Mandir as the centrepiece. The impressive piece features more than five thousand American diamonds and is made with two kilograms of silver.

The intricate design of the necklace was meticulously completed by approximately 40 artisans in a span of 35 days, ANI reported. The cord of the necklace is adorned with carvings depicting key characters from the Ramayana.

2. Around 3,000 gifts arrive from Sita’s house in Nepal

Around five hundred devotees of Lord Ram embarked on an important journey from Nepal to Ayodhya. With an aim to bestow blessings on Shri Ram and Mata Janaki, these devoted followers presented over 3000 unique gifts, ranging from cash, clothes, fruits and sweets to valuable metals like gold and silver. The procession started from Janaki Mandir in Janakpur on January 4 and reached Ayodhya two days later on January 6.

3. The Vegetable Seller’s Ingenious Gift: World Clock Developed and Presented at Ram Temple

As a gesture of reverence, a vegetable vendor unveiled the world’s first clock, capable of showing the time in nine different countries, at the Ram temple. In 2018, Anil Kumar Sahu, the 51-year-old vegetable seller, designed and patented the global clock with the Indian government. He generously gifted the 75cm watch to Ram Temple Trust general secretary Champat Rai. Additionally, Sahu has donated two more clocks: one to Hanuman Garhi and another to the Ayodhya Junction railway station and the main shrine.

4.Golden bow and arrow gifted by Mahavir Temple Trust

President Kishore Kunal of the Mahavir Temple Trust in Patna, Bihar, has made a distinctive gesture by presenting Shri Ram Lalla with a golden bow and arrow. Additionally, the Trust is generously contributing Rs 10 million towards the construction of the Ram temple, with the final installment expected before the much-awaited Pran Pratishtha event.

The symbolism of the Dhanush has a special significance in the sacred connection between Mithila and Ayodhya, as it was after Shri Ram successfully broke the arch that Sita’s marriage took place.

Made by a renowned Chennai-based company, the golden bow and arrow is expected to arrive in Ayodhya on January 12, adding to the excitement for the upcoming consecration event.

5. Nagpur tattoo artists extend free ‘Shri Ram’ tattoos to 1,000 devotees

Nagpur-based tattoo artist Hritik Darode made a unique offer to Ram devotees ahead of the consecration of Ayodhya. He is generously providing free tattoos of Lord Ram’s name on the hands of 1001 people. The response has been overwhelming, with numerous enthusiastic sign-ups, including women.

6.Vadodara devotee creates 1100 kg lamp for Ram temple

For the inauguration of the Ram Temple, Arvindbhai Mangalbhai Patel, a devotee resident of Vadodara, Gujarat, crafted an immense lamp weighing 1100 kg. Measuring 9.25 feet high and 8 feet wide, the lamp, made of brass and copper, has a capacity to hold 851 kg of ghee. Constructed from Panchadhatu, an alloy of five metals (gold, silver, copper, zinc and iron), the lamp underwent several months of development and achieved success on the fifth attempt. The devoted farmer expressed his desire to present this symbol of love and reverence to Lord Ram.

7.Hyderabad witnesses 8,000 kilometer Padyatra pilgrimage with delivery of 9 kilograms of golden Padukas

Challa Srinivas Sastry of Hyderabad, Telangana, is undertaking a remarkable padayatra, spanning 8,000 kilometres, to present a pair of nine-kilogram golden padukas to the Ram Temple. Valued at Rs 65 lakh, these padukas symbolize Sastry’s deep devotion and respect for Lord Ram. Beginning his journey on August 5, 2020, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s laying of the temple’s foundation stone, Sastry has traversed 108 cities and 11 states, collecting alms and blessings from locals. His commitment includes handing over the padukas to Ram Lalla on January 21, 2024, a day before the inauguration, upon his arrival in Ayodhya.

8.Indian chef preparing 7000 kg of ‘Ram Halwa’

Nagpur-based chef Vishnu Manohar announced plans to prepare 7,000 kg of traditional sweet ‘Ram Halwa’ for pilgrims attending the inauguration of the Ram Temple. The chef, who holds the world record for the longest cooking time, will need 900 kg of rava, 1,000 kg of ghee, 1,000 kg of sugar, 2,000 liters of milk, 2,500 liters of water, 300 kg of dry fruits and 75 kg. of cardamom powder for halwa production. Notably, a huge kadhai weighing 1300-1400 kg will be used in the preparation. The prasad, in the form of a halwa, will be distributed to the devotees.
