Who is the head of ISRO?
S Somanath, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), is a well-known scientist and a notable figure in the field of science and technology in India.
The man behind multiple space missions and who guided the country to the surface of the moon is ready to present his book next month.
What did his autobiography reveal?
The autobiography, titled ‘Nilavu Kudicha Simhangal’, is written in Malayalam and promises to be a motivational story as it describes his humble journey, starting with how a little boy with no money to pay for dormitory or bus fare came to represent the country. on a global scale.
According to media reports, the autobiography details his life, including how the ISRO chief used to ride to college on an old bicycle. It also provides insight into S Somanath’s financial difficulties at that time.
Where did you stay while you were in college?
Due to financial constraints, the ISRO chief used to reside in a small, basic hostel. The distinguished scientist recalls that he was forced to live in a small room in the Kollam region of Kerala because he did not have enough money to pay the hostel fees while attending TKM Engineering College.
Apart from that, he was forced to go to university on an old bicycle because he couldn’t pay the bus fare. Not only that, but the scientist had to give up important study trips due to the financial situation of his family.
When did you start to see success?
Apart from giving details about his early challenges, S Somanath also revealed how like many of us, he was stumped when it came to making a career decision.
S Somanath, an ordinary village teenager who was undecided between studying engineering or a degree, managed to stay the course and make decisions that led him to his current position.
How are you doing now?
According to media sources, the ISRO chairman hopes to motivate people to pursue their aspirations and at the same time overcome adversity in their lives. His autobiography will be published in November and is currently being published by Kerala-based Lipi Publications.
Apart from his personal life, the book delves into the technical parts of his career at ISRO, covering the history of PSLV, GSLV Mark III and, most notably, Chandrayaan-3.
