A week later, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Singler, 35, on murder charges after further investigation.

Singler had disappeared before her arrest and had not been seen since December 23. A police spokesman said she was initially treated as a robbery victim and that she was cooperating with investigators before fleeing.

The children’s murders come as Singler and Wentz, her ex-husband, were locked in a legal battle over parenting time and other issues, according to court documents.

Wentz said in a statement to FOX 21 that he and his ex-wife had been in a bitter custody fight since 2018. Singler even accused him of child abuse, although the allegations were found unfounded by the courts.

He also successfully filed for a temporary protective order against Wentz in September in El Paso County, accusing Wentz of pulling a knife on him, and then made another request in November in Larimer County on the same allegation, but it was denied and was not considered. a threat, the local station reported.

But Singler did not take the children to an exchange on Dec. 16, resulting in an in-person hearing scheduled for Dec. 20 with the three children, according to the station.

A Larimer County judge determined that Wentz should have full custody of the three children until a hearing on Jan. 18, 2024, KRDO reported, citing court records.
