The Google Pixel 8 series will be introduced on October 4. The company seems to have verified the lineup, which includes the Pixel 8 as a standard model and the Pixel 8 Pro as this year’s all-new Pro model. It will be introduced in October 2022 to replace the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, which were launched last year. Various leaks, rumors, and certification listings for the upcoming phones have revealed critical details. The soon-to-be-launched phones are also expected to offer significant improvements over previous generations. A few days before the formal debut, a tipster detailed all the probable specifications and prices of the smartphones.
In a post on X, tipster Kamila Wojciechowska (@Za_Raczke) detailed the full features of the Pixel 8 series and estimated prices. According to the rumor, the Pixel 8 will be available in Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose color options, while the Pixel 8 Pro will be available in Obsidian, Porcelain, and Bay. According to the publication, the base model will cost $699 (approximately Rs 51,800), while the pro model will cost $899 (approximately Rs 74,800).
The Pixel 8 is believed to have a 6.17-inch OLED display with Full-HD+ resolution, while the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to have a 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with QHD resolution. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection is expected to be included with the displays. The devices are believed to be powered by Tensor G3 SoC and will be available in 8GB + 12GB and 128GB + 256GB RAM and storage configurations. The phones will come pre-installed with Android 14.
The Pixel 8’s dual rear camera unit is expected to support a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide-angle lens, while the Pixel 8 Pro is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 48-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide-angle lens, and another 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x zoom. The phones are expected to have 10.5-megapixel front cameras.
With the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, Google is expected to provide seven years of security and operating system updates. Along with Magic Editor’s face-swapping capabilities, the phones will most likely offer Real Tone, Night Sight, Astrophotography, and Super Res Zoom. Users will supposedly be able to capture movies in low-light circumstances using the Video Boost and Light Sight capabilities. The phones are also believed to include an Audio Eraser, which will help reduce unwanted background noise in videos.
The Pixel 8 will most likely ship with a 4,485 mAh battery that supports 24W wired and 12W wireless fast charging. The Pixel 8 Pro, on the other hand, is believed to have a 4,950 mAh battery with Support 27W wired fast charging and 12W wireless charging.
The phones are expected to include face unlock and fingerprint scanners for security purposes. The base model is estimated to weigh 187 grams, while the professional model will weigh 213 grams.
