The visit of the Minister of Defense of Argentina to New Delhi has fueled speculation about the deal centers around the acquisition of around 15 units of HAL Tejas Fighter Jet Mark, which is an advanced light combat fighter jet designed and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the state-owned company of India. The light combat helicopter is an Indian creation that is supposed to be included in the negotiation talks. On platforms manufactured in the Latin American region, this was aimed at meeting any compensatory needs in the event of potential sales by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. According to reports, the Argentina-India deal will be made between the currencies of the two nations, no third currency will be used in the deal. Based on 2023 exchange rates, financial guesswork puts the deal at around INR 8,600 crores or USD 1,150 million.
