Here we go again.
That’s the theme Nikki Haley’s campaign is playing this Groundhog Day: criticizing former President Donald Trump and President Biden for insisting on a “rematch that no one wants.”
Haley’s team filmed a short ad showing actor Bill Murray smashing his alarm clock in frustration in the iconic 1993 comedy “Groundhog Day,” comparing him to the American people.
“Americans wake up on Groundhog Day feeling like Bill Murray’s Phil Connors in the iconic film of the same name,” the campaign said.
“Like Connors, who is forced to relive Groundhog Day over and over again, Americans want to smash their alarm clocks and soak their toasters in the bathtub thinking about a rematch between Trump and Biden and all the chaos and pettiness what it will bring.”
Haley’s national spokesperson, Olivia Pérez-Cubas, told The Post that “Nikki Haley offers a better option. She will be a strong president focused on solving America’s problems and a leader we can be proud of.”
About 67% of Americans indicated they were “tired of seeing the same candidates in presidential elections and want someone new,” according to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll.
In that same poll, Trump led Biden by 40% to 34%.
Trump is the big favorite to become the standard bearer of the Republican Party in the November 5 elections.
The 77-year-old former president defeated Haley in both Iowa and New Hampshire by double digits.
Bill Murray’s character Phil Connors, a Pennsylvania meteorologist, was trapped in a time loop in the classic film.
Trump has secured 32 pledged delegates to Haley’s 17. Polls show him with a big lead both nationally and in Haley’s home state of South Carolina.
Haley has been sweeping the Palmetto State, where she was governor for six years, before the Feb. 24 race, with minimal effect on the polls.
In a recent Washington Post-Monmouth University poll, Trump had 58% support in South Carolina, compared to Haley’s 32%.
The 52-year-old has insisted that the race is “just beginning” and emphasized that she is Trump’s last major rival standing.

The Trump campaign ignored Haley’s broadsides against the 45th president.
“Nikki Haley is a cold-hearted loser who is becoming more irrelevant by the day,” spokesman Steven Cheung told The Post.
“The more people get to know her and her Democratic ties, the more they despise her for being a fraud. It is clear that she simply does not have what it takes or the strength to take on corrupt Joe Biden.”
On Thursday, Trump’s campaign held an event featuring a group of South Carolina Republicans who backed him more than Haley, boasting of their control over the party.
Ahead of the showdown in South Carolina, Haley has tempered expectations, arguing that he doesn’t have to win, but simply has to “prove that we’re competitive.”

Haley’s campaign had $14 million in cash on hand late last year as her Super PAC was depleted, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
The Trump campaign had more than $33 million in cash on hand.
