Career
Harika was involved in chess from the beginning. He won a medal at the U9 National Championship. She later won a silver medal at the World Chess Championship for girls under ten. It was at that time that she approached her NVS coach, Ramaraju, who perfected her game. After Humpu Koneru, she became the second Indian woman to become a grandmaster.
Harika has won several awards such as the National Women’s Chess Championship, the Commonwealth Women’s Chess Championship, the Women’s Grandmaster Title – Youngest Grandmaster of the Asian continent, the World Junior Women’s U-18 Championship, Georgia, the 2011 Women’s Grandmaster Chess Tournament, Hangzhou.
She won the bronze medal at the 2021 FIDE Online Chess Olympiad and the silver medal at the 2021 FIDE Women’s World Team Championship.
