Hillary Clinton Sounds Alarm About Putin’s Election Meddling, Warns He’ll ‘Do It Again’

Hillary Clinton ominously warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin could meddle in the upcoming 2024 election.

The former standard-bearer of the Democratic Party reiterated her annoyance that Putin interfered in the 2016 elections and worries that he is being underestimated this time.

“The Russians have proven to be quite adept at interfering and if they get the chance, they will do it again,” Clinton surmised on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki” on Sunday.

“I don’t think that, despite all the deniers, there’s any question that he interfered in our elections,” he said. “Part of the reason he worked so hard against me is because he didn’t think he wanted me in the White House.”

In the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, cybersecurity experts discovered a breach of Democratic National Committee emails linked to actors based in Russia.

Russia is also believed to have set up a troll farm to amplify anger and discord on social media around the 2016 election, among other influence campaigns.

Former President Donald Trump has vehemently denied any claims that his campaign coordinated directly with Russia before his victory.

Ironically, many Republicans later accused Big Tech of interfering in the 2020 election under the guise of countering Russia.

Several social media companies strangled an explosive October 2020 story from The Post about Hunter Biden’s laptop that raised concerns about then-candidate Joe Biden.

Despite accusations that the material on the laptop was fraudulent, numerous media outlets have since authenticated large swathes of that hard drive.

Since the 2016 and 2020 elections, Russia has found itself increasingly isolated and hit by crippling Western sanctions over its bloody foray into neighboring Ukraine.

Putin has an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court that has apparently prevented him from attending international confabs such as the Group of 20 summit earlier this month, or the BRICS summit last month, when he opted for a remote speech. .

Both Putin and Trump have occasionally exchanged kind words. The Russian president, accused of brutally murdering several of his rivals and then playing dumb, recently criticized Trump’s prosecution as an emblematic “rottenness of the American political system.”

“Putin is this authoritarian dictator who literally kills his opposition, kills journalists, poisons people who disagree with him, invades another country, [and] “It interferes with our election,” Clinton argued.

He warned that there is “creeping fascism” and “would-be dictators” looming over the US political horizon. Clinton did not provide any names.

His former enemy, Trump, faces 91 criminal charges spanning four different indictments. He has steadfastly denied any wrongdoing and has also vowed not to forgive himself.

“I don’t believe him at all,” Clinton joked about his promise not to forgive himself.

At one point during the wide-ranging interview, Clinton weighed in on the travails of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as he grapples with a rowdy, slim Republican majority.

He posited that McCarthy’s announced impeachment inquiry against Biden is emblematic of his yielding to his far-right flank.

“Sadly, the Speaker of the House is too weak to stand up to the most rabid bloc of his members who don’t care what the truth or facts are.” she said. “They want a political problem that they can try to use for their own benefit.”

McCarthy is trying to rally his caucus to prevent a government shutdown, but enough defectors have gathered the votes to torpedo every one of his attempts so far.

Congress has until September 30 at 11:59 pm to draft a funding resolution; otherwise there will be a government shutdown.
