The Himachal Pradesh police took action against the driver after a video of him driving a Thar on the Chandra river from Lahaul and Spiti went viral. Action was taken against the tourist and his vehicle was held liable under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, according to a video released by ANI.

“Recently, a video of a Thar crossing the Chandra river in Lahaul Spiti district went viral,” SP Mayank Chaudhry told the news agency. “The aforementioned vehicle has been challenged under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and the district police have deployed police officers at the spot to ensure that no one commits such an offense in future.”
