This year’s Miss Nepal, Jane Dipika Garrett, competed in the world’s premier annual beauty pageant, which took place on November 18 at the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium in San Salvador, El Salvador.

The 22-year-old stated, “As a curvy woman who doesn’t follow certain beauty standards, I’m here to represent all women,” expressing her support for body positivity.

What were your struggles?

She also opened up about her past battles with body image. Success, in my opinion, varies from individual to individual. It means a lot to me to be on this stage and tell it like it is.

“A few years ago I was a very insecure person and had very low self-esteem,” Garret continues. I consider myself successful now that I love who I am. In the end, Garrett emerged as a popular figure on social media and ranked among the top 20 Miss Universe contestants.

“Top 20, baby! In an Instagram message addressed to her 280,000 followers, the semi-finalist expressed her gratitude to all her followers and fans.

“What counts is that I gave it my all! I’m thrilled to challenge beauty pageant preconceptions and represent genuine-sized beauty on a global level.” She went on to say, “I am so proud of the new Miss Universe and will always cherish this life-changing stage of my life!”

On social media, Garrett’s followers expressed their solidarity. “I seriously started crying when they called you in the top 20,” said one commentator. You represent girls with curves like mine. Jane, I’m so proud of you!” “@jadedipika_ is breaking every stereotype in the world! “We are incredibly proud of you, Miss Universe,” someone else exclaimed.

“Well done on Miss Universe,” someone else said. Instead of pushing an agenda, you really broke all boundaries and championed inclusivity. Continue as you are.” A fourth said: “Congratulations, you made us plus size women proud!”
