‘Homeless’ man found sleeping on roof of Oklahoma store

Employees at an Oklahoma dairy store got a strange surprise when they arrived at work to discover a squatter taking a nap on the restaurant’s roof.

Philip Hickman, 41, was caught sleeping at Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy Shop in Norman, Oklahoma, on September 9, according to police body camera footage from the reveal.

Employees called police around 6 a.m. to report a possible theft after tiles fell from the ceiling and damaged the camera system, according to News 9.

Norman police arrived and found the homeless man inside the building.

“I have a dummy on the ceiling,” Officer Deatheridge can be heard on the body camera footage. “Man, I don’t know how he’s lying there like that.”

Firefighters can be seen using a ladder to reach the roof and access the man, who pretended to be taking a nap to avoid arrest.

“The guy is lying in the rafters, we can’t get him to move or do anything. We had no idea how to get him down,” said one of the lifeguards.
