A homeless woman wanted for armed robbery allegedly shot and killed a Hollywood music producer while he sat in his car, police announced.

Kayla Delise Mackie, 27, was charged with murder on Tuesday, five days after William James Edwards III was found in “serious condition” while parked on a Santa Monica street.

The 46-year-old producer, who worked with rappers Travis Scott and Lil Cobaine, died shortly after being rushed to a nearby hospital, Santa Monica police said.

Mackie, whom police described as “currently homeless,” was arrested the next day in west Los Angeles.

His motive for allegedly pulling the trigger on Edwards remains unclear.

“Last week’s senseless murder on 29th Street has left us all shaken,” Santa Monica Mayor Phil Brock said in a statement.

“Nothing can take away the pain this incident has caused Mr. Edwards’ loved ones and our community as a whole.”

Edwards worked as a producer in Los Angeles, collaborating with rappers such as Travis Scott and Lil Cobaine. He is also listed as a producer on a 2018 film called “Haunting on Fraternity Row,” as well as two short films.

Lil Cobaine, whose real name is Cayman Harrison Cline, mourned the loss of Edwards in an Instagram post, calling the producer his “family.”

Police said witness descriptions were crucial in locating Mackey, who was also wanted in Los Angeles for armed robbery and attempted murder.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office could not immediately provide further details about Mackey’s alleged prior crimes.

The Hollywood murder comes just weeks after another homeless woman was charged with the shooting death of social justice advocate Michael Latt.

Jameelah Elena Michl allegedly broke into Latt’s home because he was friends with a film director she had been harassing, police said.
