An honor guard member fainted Monday while standing near the flag-draped casket of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who died earlier this month and now lies in repose at the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. .
The terrifying incident unfolded during a live CNN broadcast from the building’s Great Hall.
The cause of the collapse has not been revealed and the officer’s condition is unknown.
The male guard can be seen staggering as a colleague tries to hold him up.
He then falls to the ground as others rush to his aid.
“Uh oh,” a shocked announcer can be heard during the incident. “Now we’re watching this live with you.”
To honor her pioneering career, the Supreme Court held a private ceremony Monday morning with speakers Justice Sonia Sotomayor and the Rev. Jane Fahey.
