The renowned personality Heriberto Fiorillo has passed away. Heriberto was well known in Colombian cultural history due to his almost four decades of study on the subject. He graduated in Social Communication and Journalism from the Javeriana University of Bogotá, and his multilingual multimedia productions and newspaper articles prove it. In addition to his work as a journalist, Fiorillo also teaches journalistic narratives at the Foundation for a New Ibero-American Journalism. As a cultural manager and professional in journalism, screenwriting, and filmmaking, Heriberto likely has a variety of jobs, including speaking engagements, magazine articles, scriptwriting and directing contracts, book sales, and screenplay contracts. Due to his work with the La Cueva Foundation and the Barranquilla International Carnival of the Arts, he can also receive funding from institutions and organizations.
Cause of death of Heriberto Fiorillo
Heriberto Fiorillo, writer, cultural journalist, screenwriter and director from Barranquilla, died. Studies indicate that the cause of Heriberto Fiorillo’s death was related to medicine. ‘Fiori’, as his relatives appreciated it, organized the International Carnival of the Arts 16 years ago and, according to Carlos Polo, his death occurred on Monday night. The renowned journalist also served as executive director of the La Cueva Cultural Foundation. Before taking over as director of the newspaper EL HERALDO, he was deputy director of Cromos magazine at the age of 25. He had very serious medical problems when he arrived, but despite that, Polo said, “he died peacefully. From his house he remained connected to all the activities we undertook, including for the 16th edition of the International Carnival of the Arts, he remained active delivering ideas on the guest grill ”.
Medical problems led to the death of Heriberto Fiorillo. He also established himself as a journalist, filmmaker, presenter and producer for New York radio, if that wasn’t enough. Fiorillo, a graduate of the Javeriana University of Bogotá, stood out not only as a linguist but also for his extensive journalistic production, including the creation of scripts and texts for audiovisuals. The Medal of Cultural Merit, a designation Destined to honor the efforts of creative people and institutions to bring the arts closer to the public, it was awarded to him by the Colombian Ministry of Culture in 2021 in recognition of his cinematographic work and cultural promotion in literature and theater.
