Some people do their duty with full principle and honesty and many times they save the lives of others without caring for their lives. One such honest and dedicated person lost her life while she was saving other people’s lives. The deceased was a firefighter and came from Chicago. On Tuesday April 4, 2023 she lost her life while responding to a house fire on the South Side. This event occurred in the early morning of the previous day. Pelt, 49, who has been working with the Chicago Fire Department since 2005, was one of three firefighters injured in the incident.
Cause of death of Jermaine Pelt
Unfortunately, he lost his life after suffering serious injuries. The news of his death is officially confirmed by Annette Nance-Holt, the fire commissioner. His death has caused sadness on all social media platforms and people pay tribute to him and remember him for his dedication to his duty. He leaves behind 2 children, an adult daughter and a son who is only 6 years old. His eldest daughter is married. The commissioner shared that Pelt’s daughter found out about her father’s passing while she was on her honeymoon.
Addressing the sad news, Anthony Frazier Sr, the Chicago Fire Department’s Deputy District Chief, stated that “we know that every time the bell rings and we go out on those calls, we already know that there is a chance that we may not return. But for that we signed up and it is our duty to save the lives of other people without caring about ours. We are trained and we know how to get out of bad situations, but sometimes it is unavoidable”.
Meanwhile, the Fire Commissioner also claimed that there was no explosion and that Pelt was not trapped inside the burning building. Therefore, investigating officers are looking into the circumstances behind Pelt’s death. The family and co-workers at the fire department were in complete shock and felt sad for him as he had just married off his daughter. The news of his death is nothing short of a tragedy for the entire community and also for his team. Several other people also expressed their sadness after hearing the news of the firefighter’s passing.
People are paying tribute to him through their Twitter accounts and sending their condolences and condolences to his family who are currently devastated by this sad news. Authorities also claimed that Pelt was admitted to Christ Hospital, where he was given CPR. The doctors and nurses did everything possible to save his life, but unfortunately he left us in a state of mourning.
