Ila Arun was born on March 15, 1954 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He completed his graduation from Maharani College, Jaipur. He has brothers Rama Pandey, Piyush Pandey, Prasoon Pandey and Tripti Pandey.
His first appearance on Hindi television with the show Lifeline A aired on DD National in the late 80s. He began his big screen career with Ardh Satya (1983), a crime drama film starring veterans like Om Puri, Amrish Puri, Nassurddin Shah, Smita Patil and many more. The first superhit play of his was “Morni Baaga Ma Bole” along with Lata Mangeshkar in Lamhe (1991) and the most famous song of his was Choli Ke Pichey from the movie Khalnayak (1993).
He did a lot of films including Batwara, Dusman, Diya Or Toofan, Bedardi, Bhopal Express, Raavan, Welcome To Sajjanpur, Raat Akeli Hai and many more.
