1. Da-Hong Pao Tea, China
Rolling in as number one, this tea is valued at a whopping $1.2 million per kg. It is the most expensive tea in the world, which is grown in the Wuyi Mountains of the Chinese province of Fujian and has been declared a national treasure for its rarity.

2. Panda dung tea, China
Another more expensive tea also belongs to China and is called Panda Dung Tea, which costs around $3,500 for 50 grams and sells for about $70,000 per kilogram. This tea uses panda dung as a fertilizer and is known for its high antioxidant content.
3. Yellow Gold Tea Buds, Singapore
The third most expensive tea is Yellow Gold Tea Buds, which are only harvested once a year with gold shears and then dried in the sun. The tea leaves are then sprinkled with edible 24-karat gold flakes. It is known as the ‘Tea of the Emperors of China’ and costs around $7,800 per kilogram of tea leaves.

4. Imperial Tea Silver Tips, Darjeeling, India
At auction in 2014, it sold for $1,850 a kilo, making it the most expensive tea in India. It is a type of oolong tea, which is harvested on the sloping hills of the hill station, Darjeeling.
5.Gyokuro, Japan
It is considered one of the highest quality green teas in Japan and was first discovered by Kahei Yamamoto VI in 1835. Gyokuro translates to “pearl dew” or “jade dew” in Japanese and is grown in the Uji district. . It costs a considerable amount of money which is about $650.
