Just when we thought we’d seen it all with the iPhone 15 Pro drop test, we were treated to another fascinating showdown. This time, it was the mighty titanium-clad iPhone 15 Pro Max that took on Samsung’s latest, the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
In a meticulously controlled experiment, PhoneBuff took down both giants not once, but four times! The tests included the harrowing back drop, corner drop, face drop and, for those seeking extra thrills, an extra round of cold, unforgiving steel.
While the competition was fierce, the Galaxy S23 Ultra had a slight advantage over its Apple counterpart. With a score of 39 out of 40, the S23 Ultra eclipsed the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which was close behind with a score of 37.
Interestingly, the front and back glass of the iPhone decided they had had enough since the first drop. But its titanium corners? Well, they made fun of the drops, showing more resistance than the aluminum edges of the S23 Ultra.
The positive side? Even with the drops, twists, and heart-stopping impacts, both phones still performed like champs. Cameras, screens, buttons, everything working. However, it’s worth noting that the iPhone 15 Pro Max appears a bit more fragile than its steel-framed older siblings.
All in all, it was quite a showdown. While both phones suffered their fair share of battle scars, it’s safe to say they’re both still standing…albeit with a few more scratches and dents.
