The Israeli mother who used her baking skills to stop her Hamas kidnappers on October 7 is now sharing the cookie recipe that saved her family’s lives.
“I had them wrapped around my pinky finger, those nasty monsters,” Rachel Edri says in an Instagram video while baking.
Edri, who successfully distracted five Hamas gunmen until an Israeli SWAT team rescued her and her husband, shared the recipe for the cookies she made for the terrorists.
“Friends, for two and a half months I have been crazy about the cookie recipe I made for the monsters, so I tell you once and for all, I made you date cookies, chocolate chip cookies. , Moroccan machine cookies,” he said, according to a translation by the Jerusalem Post.
Recreating the chocolate chip version that convinced the gunmen, Edri listed the ingredients as a packet of baking powder, half a cup of brown sugar, a tablespoon of white sugar, two cups of flour, two eggs and 150 grams of softened butter. . plus the addition of chocolate.

Edri went on to mix the ingredients in a bowl and cut small circles of dough. After flattening them, she placed them in an oven preheated to 170 degrees Celsius or 338 Fahrenheit.
Edri is diabetic and can’t eat her life-saving candy, but that only left more for the Hamas terrorists swarming around her cookies.

She was with her husband, David, in Ofakim when terrorists stormed their home during the October 7 attack.
The crafty mother said she realized the gunmen were “hungry,” so she offered to cook for the terrorists, bake them cookies and treat them to coffee and Coca-Cola Zero, she revealed during an interview with ABC News.
To buy time, he also joked with the terrorists and even asked for some Arabic lessons, he said.

Fortunately, his son Evi, an Israeli police officer, arrived quickly and had a confrontation with Hamas members, one of whom held Edri by the neck with a grenade in his hand.
