Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations sharply criticized the far-left “Squad” in Congress for its refusal to condemn Hamas.
“They are motivated by hatred of Israel and political interests here,” Gilad Erdan said Friday from his office at the Israeli consulate in New York City. “I think some of them suffer from ignorance about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.”
Erdan said he was not talking about all progressive House Democrats, and limited his comments to the most radical founding members: Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Minn.) by Massachusetts). and Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez (D-NY)
“Muslim countries that are murdering or committing massacres against their own people, hundreds of thousands of Muslims are being executed or killed and killed by their regimes. I never saw these members of Congress campaigning against them. I simply see them campaigning against one of the United States’ closest allies,” Erdan continued.
AOC, Tlaib, Omar and other progressives voted against a House resolution condemning Hamas, which overwhelmingly passed the chamber last week.

Leaflets with images of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas that were placed outside his office have been torn down.
Erdan said it was “shocking” that a majority of American Muslims found Hamas terrorism against Israel “justified.”

“I think all Americans should be scared, they should be scared because the people who can support the massacre, the beheading of babies and the burning of people alive are people who could also behave violently here,” Erdan warned.
Erdan has served as Israel’s representative to the United Nations for more than three years, but he has little love for the institution.

Since the Oct. 7 massacre, the UN has called for a ceasefire but has refused to condemn Hamas.
“If we analyze the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the UN is destructive. The UN has [made] an enormous contribution to the perpetuation of the conflict. The UN is responsible for a lot of blood spilled in our region,” he stated.

Erdan, echoing his bosses in Jerusalem, said no ceasefire was in the cards until Hamas was destroyed.
“A ceasefire? The meaning of a ceasefire is to tie Israel’s hands to prevent these atrocities from happening again,” she stated.
