There isn’t much information about where Jank’s mother is. However, in December 2020, Jade’s former stepfather, Thomas Merriman, suffered a fall and was admitted to the hospital. Also, when she was discharged from the hospital one afternoon, Jade decided to clean her house. And while she was cleaning her house, Jank discovered the most barbaric thing on her computer.
Jade found a file where her stepfather had saved all of her nude photos in one file. Some photographs were, however, old and dated from when she was only 16 years old. Furthermore, her father had saved one of the most vulgar images of her as a screensaver. In court, Ella Jade remembers how she felt the moment she saw the photographs.
She describes the feeling as being so dirty that she felt uncomfortable with herself and it was the creepiest thing she had ever seen. And so it was that on December 31, 2020, Janks gave her stepfather an overdose of sleeping pills and strangled him to death.
Reports say his stepfather was a drug abuser and had all kinds of addictions to alcohol and sleeping pills. He was also accused of raping a woman, but was convicted of felonies and allowed to leave.
Jank’s bail and the court’s verdict
As soon as the police found the body, Jade was arrested and put on trial. In less than 24 hours, the court decided to announce the verdict of the case as guilty and Jade was asked to serve the punishment. The court sentenced her to 25 years in prison. Throughout the trial, Ella Jade tried to convince authorities that she had nothing to do with her stepfather’s death.
Janks also believed she committed no crime. She never, not even once, confessed that she felt guilty for killing her stepfather. However, in December 2022, her case came back to court and Jade was granted bail. The condition in which she is released on bail is that she has to pay the bail charges which are 1 million dollars and with an anklet with a GPS tracker on her leg.
