A man in Japan transforms himself into a wolf with a 20-lakh costume
According to the UK-based The Times, Toru Ueda, an engineer, spent three million Yen (Rs 20 lakh) on the handmade wolf suit.
The outfit was given to him earlier this year, and he was pictured wearing it frequently. His story is once again going viral. Zeppet Workshop, a specialty production and modelling business that develops costumes and figures for the cinema and television industries, designed the suit.
The wolf costume was created in seven weeks by four firm personnel. Despite the high price, Ueda refuses to wear it to costume events, claiming that walking in the wolf suit would be uncomfortable.
The 32-year-old, on the other hand, claims he wears it at home to unwind and forget about his problems.
“When I wear my costume, I feel like I’m no longer human,” Ueda said in January to The Times. “I’m no longer involved in human relationships.” “I can forget about all kinds of problems, work-related and otherwise,” he continued.
The man described donning the outfit as a “powerful experience” for him. “I see a wolf when I look in the mirror, and it’s very moving.”
“I’m not a werewolf; that’s a type of monster, and I’m not a monster,” Ueda explained.
The suit allows him to move normally
According to The Times, during talks with the Zeppet team, Ueda stated that he wanted the human-sized suit to be as lifelike as possible while also allowing him to move normally.
He met with Zeppet three times in person, as well as sending the company countless photographs of wolves and exchanging 40 emails in which they discussed the outfit down to the finest detail, including the design and texture of the coat.
“When I look in the mirror, I see a wolf, and that is very moving,” Ueda remarked. “I’m not a werewolf — that’s a kind of monster, and I am not a monster.” While you may imagine Ueda is eager to show off his outfit, especially after spending so much money on it, this is not the case.
The same manufacturer also created a suit for another Japanese man who wanted to look like a dog. The hyperrealistic costume transformed the man, whose identity is unknown, into a Collie, a breed of herding dog.
The man recently released a video of himself going out in public for the first time. Bystanders were taken aback by the human collie.
