Career
May began her acting career at the age of 12. She appeared in the drama film A World Apart as Molly Roth. For her role, she won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival and the Most Promising Newcomer award at the Evening Standard British Film Awards. In 1994, she played a lead role in Sister My Sister. She later starred in the drama film The Gambler, for which she won the Silver Dolphin Award for Best Actress.
In 1999, he appeared in the television movies Warriors and The Turn of the Screw. She later appeared in the television series Tipping the Velvet.
