Moving houses – a process that can turn even the most zen-like individuals into frazzled, caffeinated dancers. It’s like playing a real-life game of Tetris but with furniture instead of colourful blocks.
You’d think we’d have evolved past the point of hauling our entire lives from one place to another, yet here we are, wrestling with couches that seem to have multiplied overnight and wondering why we ever thought owning so many shoes was a good idea.
A video from Mumbai showing an epic jugaad has taken the internet by storm. Have a look at the video here:

The ‘city of aspirations,’ Mumbai is well-known for Bollywood buzz and everything glitzy. However, few are aware of the other side, which consists of tiny quarters, small streets, and packed markets.
Now, a video going viral on social media accurately illustrates a ‘normal Sunday’ in Mumbai. The video shows people using ropes to bring down a piece of furniture.
The video shows a group of individuals using ropes to lower a big piece of furniture from the top story of a building. However, it’s unclear what the object is. People in the comments section can be seen discussing how it is a fairly ‘common’ occurrence in Mumbai.
The video has received over 45K likes since it was posted. “Yeh technology Mumbai se bahar nhi jaani chahiye,” an Instagram user said. Another commenter stated, “India se bahar ni Jani chaiye ye technology bhot High fi hai.”
Mumbai is well-known for its severe housing space crunch
Mumbai is well-known for its severe housing shortage. Rapid population increase in the city, combined with limited available land for expansion, has resulted in a serious scarcity of housing space. Housing demand far outstrips supply, resulting in rising property prices and exceptionally high population density in residential areas.
As a result of the housing shortage, many citizens are compelled to live in small flats, dubbed “matchbox apartments” due to their small size.
These apartments might be relatively small and lacking in basic facilities. Families sharing small living quarters are not prevalent, and the lack of privacy and personal space can be difficult.
