Kaushlendra Vikram Singh is an IAS officer. He was appointed as the new Collector of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on April 3, 2023. In 2009, Vikram became an IAS officer. Prior to his appointment as collector of Bhopal, Vikram had earlier served as collector of Gwalior. In June 2017 and 2018, he received an award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for housing construction under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana.
Biography
Kaushlendra Vikram Singh was born in Maheshpur village of Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, in a middle-class family. His father’s name is Bindra Singh, who is a tubewell driver in the Irrigation Department. Hailing from a small village, Vikram went to a government school and, studying in Hindi, became an IAS officer. After completing his studies, Vikram went to Allahabad University, where he pursued his further studies. His success proves that with dedication and hard work, even life’s highest aspirations can be achieved.
During his tenure as Neemuch Collector in 2017-18, he received the Award of Excellence from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for successfully converting houses built under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana into fully functional homes. In 2023, Vikram got the opportunity to become the collector of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, replacing Avinash Lavania.
