The police promised the frightened man a packet of biryani and a job.

According to a police officer at Karaya police station, the incident caused a 30-minute traffic delay on one of the city’s busiest routes. The individual took this drastic measure as a result of the emotional turmoil caused by his wife’s separation and financial problems caused by business losses.

“At around 2:30 p.m., he was taking his elder daughter on his two-wheeler to Science City. He suddenly stopped on the bridge and informed her that her mobile phone had fallen somewhere on the road and he was “He left her on the road, went up to the bridge and then threatened to jump off her,” the officer said.
